Spirit Radio is Ireland’s first national Christian radio station. Ireland was the only country in Europe that did not have a national Christian radio station. Spirit radio is a cross-community venture where people from a diverse range of Christian backgrounds are working together to spread the Gospel.
Our aim is to represent the Gospel to a modern Irish society. We want to reach out to the Irish people helping them to connect or reconnect with God who is the source of hope that persists through good times and bad.
Spirit Radio has generated national television and press coverage since we obtained our first temporary licence in 2004. It was clear, from the beginning, that Spirit Radio had caught the imagination of the public. Spirit Radio broadcast to five cities in 2006 under the temporary licence before being awarded the national Christian radio licence.
In 2007 Spirit Radio won Ireland’s first ever national Christian radio licence.
The board, staff and volunteers are all working hard to make significant progress towards FM and AM launch in the coming months.
