National Guide

1. The Church in Chains conference comes to Athlone on Sep 11th. With guest speakers Tomas and Rosa Perez , the theme of this event is “A day to focus on the persecuted church around the world”. 2. Memphis born singer/songwriter John Angotti is coming to Dublin with his Music Mission tour. John covers a wide spectrum of music from rock to jazz to latino and with his meaningful lyrics thrown into the mix it’s no surprise he’s Americas No. 1 Christian music artist. Waterford Guide

1. “An Emigrants Tale” is an Irish story with live music, song, dance and storytelling which takes a look at the experience of the Irish in America from famine times. It takes place every Tuesday and Thursday in Dooleys hotel on the quay in Waterford, and runs until Sep 16th. For more info visit www.anemigrantstale.net

2. From 26th - 29th August, Dunmore East is the place to be as The Bluegrass festival rolls into the village. You can expect bands playing to ecstatic crowds spread out comfortably at 6 venues both indoors and outdoors mixed with fine dining, swimming, sunbathing, dancing and Jamming all day and night across the weekend. 3. There’s something for everyone at the “Waterford Harvest Food Festival” which comes to town from 10th-12th September. The festival is a series of events celebrating our food heritage and culture. It promises gastronomic events, traditional music and childerens entertainment across the city. So come along and tickle your tastebuds!!

Galway Guide

1. An Tobar Nua will be holding a 6 week Bible study series every wednesday evening, starting  from Sep15th. This series is a follow on from their “Teaching of Jesus Christ” series and is open to everybody.   
2. If you are a christian and you would like to dive deeper into your faith, and give more to people, then why not take an “Evangelisation Training Course”? Throughout the course you would meet other dynamic people while learning to share your faith. If you’re interested then call Mike Shortt of An Tobar Nua on 086-3811479

3. If you’re looking for a night out with a difference, then head out to The Cottage Bar in Salthill every Wednesday evening during summer for “Celtic Tales Storytelling Sessions”. Experience Ireland and Scotland’s great myths, folklore and urban legends told by acclaimed storyteller Rab Swannock Fulton.

Limerick Guide

1. Glenroe Harvest Festival takes place from 10th-12th Sep. This gala weekend promises fun sport and music and it takes place in Ballyhoura Failte, Kilfinane. All are welcome to come join the festivities   
2. Wind down from your summer madness with some classical music therapy. This September Autumn music in Castleconnell comes to All Saints Church in Castleconnell, Limerick. The first concert takes place on the 14th September where Triocca take the stage. All concerts start at 8pm and tickets cost €15 at the door. 

3. On saturday 18th Sep. Limerick City will host a spectacular 1690 siege of Limerick re-enactment on Clancys Strand, it follows the Patrick Sarsfield bike parade which will leave City Hall at 1pm. This is going to be an event full of drama and wow that the kids will love!! (especially 9yr old boys!) For more info visit www.limerickcity.ie

Cork Guide

1. If you’d like to share your faith and make new friends, then why not join a prayer group? If this is of interest to you then pop in to the Dominican Meditation Centre, Ennismore, Mayfield on Wednesday evenings at 8.15pm.

2. If you’re in Mallow then make sure you don’t miss the Sliabh Luachra Sessions in Bruach na Carraige, Rockchapel. This informal evenings entertainment takes place every Tuesday evening throughout August. For more info visit www.sliabhluachra.com

3. On Sun 29th August take a day trip to Cobh and enjoy the festivities, as this Scenic seaside town comes alive with “Summer Swing” for the day. You can expect live bands, childrens entertainment, arts & crafts stalls and food included in the programme.

Dublin Guide

1. On the Sep 11th at 7.30pm a vibrant group of christian musicians will light up the stage with an insiring worship event. The New Irish Choir & Orchestra will feature a range of musical styles when they bring “Ireland in Praise” to The Exchange on Gardiner St, Dublin 1. Tickets cost €12 or €10 per ticket if you purchase 100 tickets from www.family.ie.

2. The Dublin Viking Festival will take over Wood Quay in Temple bar from Fri 21st-Sat 22nd August. There will be a Viking Village on site with battle demonstrations, music and other entertainment on offer as well. For more info visit www.dublinvikingfestival.ie

3. Generation Text needs you!! To raise funds for a new minibus, Generation Text are asking prople to run in the Dublin City Marathon this year. If you would like to help this worthy team of volunteers expand their work with children then you can join the training sessions every Tuesday evening in Pheonix Park at 7pm. Belfast Guide

1. On Fri 27th August, Belfast City Blues 2010 will kick off the August Bank Holiday weekend with a musical bang! It takes place in the Cathedral Quarter and promises a feast of international entertainment as well as free afternoon gigs. This is an over 18s event and prices range from £3 - £30

2. This September why not take part in the “Marie Curie Walk Ten”. This 10Km walk take place on the Stormont Estate and will come to a spectacular finish with the sky lighting up to mark the start of the next Marie Curie nursing shift. Registration fee for the walk is £10 and £100 min sponsorship is required. For more info visit www.mariecurie.org.uk

3. “The Wildlife of Belfast Lough” takes place from Sat 18th – Sun 19th September. This free event will show you everything there is to know about this fantastic nature reserve right on the edge of Belfast. The exhibition takes place in the Ulster Museum, Stranmillis Road and it opens from 10.30am – 4pm across the weekend..
