Volunteers are a core part of the team at Spirit Radio.
They work in administration, programming, radio vox-pops, IT, radio-engineering, website development, fundraising, promotions, training and contribute greatly to the necessary operations of the Radio station. All volunteers are facilitated by the Volunteer Co-ordinator, Frank Guter and work in coordination with the CEO and the various Managers. Volunteers may also get involved in short term projects such as staffing the Spirit stand at events, researching news stories, data entry, or in the improvement of the new studios, and the list could go on.
Spirit Radio is also grateful to the professionals who donate their time, skill and expertise to the station. They have made a significant difference in the areas of HR, planning permission, legal, accounting, fundraising and many other areas.
For those who are thinking of becoming Volunteers they should agree with the vision and mission of Spirit Radio, be reliable, punctual, and flexible, have plenty of good old-fashioned common sense and have a passion to become part of the team that will launch the first national Christian radio station in Ireland.
The time volunteers are prepared to commit is not as important as the fact that they are prepared to sustain whatever commitment they make.
If you have a skill or expertise and are willing to donate some time to this project please contact us or call us during office hours at +353-1-6144839.
Here is what the volunteers have to say:
I’ve really enjoyed my experience as a volunteer with Spirit Radio so far. Being part of a diverse Christian team, and a commercial radio station has been great. It’s fabulous to exercise my skills as a communications tech, and also to develop new skills as part of a production or current affairs team. Praying, working and journeying as a member of the team has been a pleasure. Mark Smyth
After just a few short years working in secular media I had already come up against many issues that conflicted with my faith. It was so refreshing to be part of something that went hand in hand with my journey with Jesus. From the start Spirit felt like a family to me, B once told me Spirit would be a big part of my spiritual journey and she was right. Working for Spirit Radio was part of Gods plan for me, so it’s no surprise then that it was one of the most memorable, exciting happy and fruitful times of my life! Praise God for Spirit Radio, I learned a lot about media, myself and God. I left Spirit Radio to do volunteer work in South America, but have a feeling I will be back, Whatever happens I hope Spirit Radio and the people who are part of it will always be in my life. Wendy Grace
I have been delighted to contribute time and energy to the community of Spirit Radio. It is worthwhile putting in efforts to a project that will have a great pay-off for the Christian message in Ireland. There are not many work environments where the community takes time to pray and worship in the midst of all the other activity. Paul Donnan
